Not To Be Outdone By WaPo, NYT Releases Another McCain Hit Piece
Following up yesterday’s post on WaPo’s non-story about McCain’s temper, today we have a NYT article about one of McCain’s associates, Donald R. Diamond. Diamond is a big mucky-muck in the Arizona real estate scene, and has been friends with McCain since his first Senate run. The point of the article is to insinuate that McCain might have improperly helped Diamond on a few government land deals. Insinuate being the key word, since NYT never seems to find any smoking gun to prove and wrongdoing by McCain. Even the Iseman story had more meat than this one, and that’s saying something.
You know, I seem to remember in school they taught me that journalists are supposed to do things like write stories with substance and proof to back up what you’re reporting. Then again, I might have made the mistake of holding NYT reporters to journalistic standards. I should know better by now, shouldn’t I?
H/T to OTB on this one, even they take a somewhat dimmer view of the situation than I do.
