More White Guilt, Courtesy Of Sharpton

This might revive the whole “he isn’t black enough” argument against Obama. Al Sharption is pissed that Obama has called for New Yorkers to not resort to violence to protest the Bell verdict.

During what a source described as a “heated” phone call yesterday, Sharpton told Obama he was disappointed with the Illinois senator’s words on Friday, when Obama said “resorting to violence to express displeasure” was “completely unacceptable and counterproductive.”

The source said Sharpton had hoped Obama would “side with the Bell family” and not use it as an “opportunity to grandstand in front of white people.”

Those of you old enough or well-read enough to get the irony here, pat yourselves on the back.

If you are not familiar with the Sean Bell case, here you go.

It’s pretty rare that I agree with Obama, but I do agree with him on this one. Violence will not bring Bell back, nor will it solve anything.

PS - For those who wonder why race is still such a huge issue in America, the answer is that people like Al Sharpton have a vested interest in keeping it that way. Until we can move past so called “black leaders” who do nothing but race-bait and perpetrate the stereotype they claim to want to abolish can we really move forward and repair race relations in this country.
