So the big controversy today amongst the nutroots is if Edwards inadvertently said he voted for Obama in the NC primary. Some, including everyone’s favorite seething ball of McCain hate Cliff Schecter are saying that he did, Edwards himself is saying he didn’t. Here is the actual Edwards quote:

You’re saying this candidate you voted for will be the candidate you potentially will endorse?” Brzezinski asked.

“I’d say that’s very likely,” Edwards said. “I just voted for ‘em on Tuesday.”

Edwards explains that “‘em” is a gender-neutral word in the South for all you Yankees who didn’t know that already.

“I said I voted for ‘em,’” Edwards said in an interview shortly afterwards with USA TODAY. “I’m a Southerner. … It wasn’t meant to be male or female.”

I vote for this to win the award for non-story of the week.
