It puts him in the awkward position of always having to inject race in himself.
“So what they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he’s not patriotic enough. He’s got a funny name. You know, he doesn’t look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He’s risky. That’s essentially the argument they’re making,” Obama told supporters in Springfield, MO Wednesday in response to thetv spot McCain released yesterday.
Why is it he keeps insisting that the GOP is going to make him look like the big bad black boogeyman? Especially since it keeps not happening. And don’t you think this is a bit of an overreaction to an ad that calls him the biggest celebrity in the world? The horse is dead Obama, please quit beating it.
UPDATE – Oh look, Team Obama says that comment wasn’t meant to be all racial.
Yesterday in Missouri, Obama predicted McCain and the GOP would use racially-tinged attacks against him.
“What they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said. “You know, he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”
An Obama spokesman denied that the line about “dollar bills” was related to the Democrat’s race.
It’s official; Team Obama thinks you’re stupid.
