Aw, isn’t that nice? Boehner sent an invite to McCain to come join them in their quest to embarrass Pelosi & Co. John demurred, saying he’d go if Obama went. Boehner said screw that, come to the party stag, we have pizza and fruit punch (and possibly something stronger if Shadegg can sneak in anything)! And they don’t think there anything wrong procedure-wise in inviting a dude from that other frat house to come to their party. 

“Yes, I think it is something he [McCain] could do. I mean, technically, we are trying to abide by the rules of procedure for the House,” Shadegg said. “[W]e begin with a prayer, the pledge and we are speaking from the well — with one exception, we’re not taking questions from the gallery, but we are trying to accord ourselves normal decorum from the House floor.”

He should totally go. It’d be, like, super wicked and stuff! Hey, I hear that gal he goes around with, her dad, like, owns Budweiser or something. Maybe she could hook them up with a keg!
