Obama Says We Should Quit Setting A Bad Example For Russia

Because everything is our fault. Everything.

The Illinois senator’s opposition to the Iraq war, which his comment clearly referenced, is well known. But this was the first time the Democratic presidential candidate has made a comparison between the U.S. invasion of Iraq and Russia’s recent military activity in Georgia.

“We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Virginia. “They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.”

Really, does he think about the words before they come out of his mouth?

  • Maybe the truth hurts. If one would look at this at face value, Obama is correct. We justified our liberation of Iraq. The Russians are justifying their protecting the Georgian citizens who want to return to being Russian citizens and take their land with them. We might not agree with their rationale, but much of the world did not agree with ours. Please do not go down the road of WMD. They really weren’t there. Either Saddam was blowing hot air, at his own expense, or our government intentionally had their blinders on. They were not content to be part of a multi-national force going into Afghanistan.

We haven’t been setting good examples, plain and simple. Actually, we’ve been looking pretty bad lately. Our country is a mess.
