Sheesh, a gal can’t even get a day away with her husband over Labor Day weekend without all sorts of crap happening. So while I was gone we found out that Sarah Palin did indeed mother her youngest yougin’, seeing as her oldest daughter Bristol is five months pregnant making the theory that Trig is her kid logistically impossible. And yes, Bristol is engaged to the father and is keeping the baby. Of course the nutroots are trying make the argument that this proves something or another about Palin’s abilities and that it makes her persona non grata amongst the social conservatives, but even James Dobson doesn’t seem particularity hopped up about the situation. Obama is trying to tell all his peeps to STFU about it, since he’s already made such a big deal about families being off limits. It’s not shutting up the Kos Kids and their crazy theorizing though.

Nobody quite knows what’s up with the RNC Convention, all we know thus far is that only the bare minimum of business is being done today. That entails calling the convention to order, taking quorum and roll call, and calling the day to a close. All speeches and other activities have been canceled, and both Bush and Cheney have said they will not be attending the RNCC in person. I watched the press conference with McCain and Rick Davis yesterday (hey, my hotel room had a 42″ HDTV) and the consensus is that each day’s activities will be decided on based on conditions in the Gulf region. As far as the region is concerned, thus far everything seems to be as OK as it can possible be. The levees are holding in NOLA, and Gustov has weakened to a Category 1 storm. Jindal did an excellent job getting his state prepared for this storm, and first responders are already in place to give aid as soon as possible. There is another hurricane on the horizon that’s expected to impact the Atlantic states, so we’re not done with the wall-to-wall hurricane coverage yet.

Rev. Wright is back, and he’s shooting off his mouth. Again. Talk about the gift that just keeps on giving….

PS – Posting tomorrow might be a bit sketchy, it’s my 1st wedding anniversary (also the reason for our mini-getaway) and they tell me I’m supposed to spend the day with my husband and stuff.
