Because the public option is for peasants, not for princesses.
President Obama struggled to explain today whether his health care reform proposals would force normal Americans to make sacrifices that wealthier, more powerful people — like the president himself — wouldn’t face.
The probing questions came from two skeptical neurologists during ABC News’ special on health care reform, “Questions for the President: Prescription for America,” anchored from the White House by Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson.
Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center, said that elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it’s not provided by insurance.
Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn’t seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he’s proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.
The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if “it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.["]
Of course. Special thanks to Dr. Devinsky for pointing out the hypocrisy of people like Obama making decisions for “the public good” knowing damn well they won’t ever be subjected to the consequences of their own plans.
PS – How long before you think this makes it into and RNC-funded commercial against the public option?

“…he hath reserved under darkness in everlasting chains, unto the judgement of the great day.
As Sodom and Gomorrha and the neighboring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to FORNICATION and going after OTHER FLESH, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.” Jude, paragraphs 6 and 7.
“But before they went to bed, the men of the CITY beset the house both YOUNG AND OLD, ALL the PEOPLE together.
And they called Lot, and said to him: where are the men that came in to thee at night? Bring them out hither that we may know them.” (This is from Genesis 19, paragraphs 4 and 5 regarding the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha)
There are several references in the Old and New Testaments about the evils of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrha. The two referenced above clearly demonstrate that in those cities evils spoken of were not just homosexuality but immoral sexual lusts of several natures. St. Jude mentions fornication (as the type of heterosexual copulation between a man and a woman which is against God’s Law) and going after other flesh. Other flesh is homosexuality, likely pedophilia, and possibly beastiality. In Genesis it is mentioned that Lot’s house was beset by the men of the city, both YOUNG and OLD, ALL the people together. God destroyed the entire city because all of the people were guilty of horrible sexual sin and all of the people included men, women, and children.
Therefore, it is very obvious that where one sin begins, a similar sin of like nature often follows. For example, in a marital conflict, if a man becomes constantly very angry at his wife, this anger can lead to violence and repeated violence can lead to serious violence and serious violence to possibly murder. Immoral sin of the flesh is no different. As humans, we are never completely sexually satisfied and when we over-ride our moral consciouces, we may experiment with immoral sexual practices. Since we are never sexually satisfied, once the “new thrill” wears off, we may again go more beyond our moral consciouces and try even more deviant sex (pedophilia, sadomasachism, beastiality, etc.) This is a twisted psychological state. And unless you are willfully blinded, it is clear in Luke and Genesis that in Sodom and Gomorrha; the people of those cities, at a minimum, were committing acts of fornication, homosexuality, and pedophilia.
In summary, at this time, the world is teaching us and our innocent children that homosexuality should be considered normal, acceptable, and commedable. Soon, unless we all speak up, there will be laws that carry severe punishment for anyone who mentions that acts like homosexuality are morally wrong. Unless we speak up NOW, pedophilia will be deemed, by law, an acceptable lifestyle. We all need to protect our children and if we do not speak up, we will be guilty and responsible for what happens to us as a society and for what happens to our children.
